What is an NVQ?
An NVQ is a nationally recognised qualification that demonstrates your skills, knowledge and experience in the job you already do.
Unlike a traditional classroom course, an NVQ is about proving what you can do in your normal working environment.
Do I need to attend a classroom?
Generally, no. Our NVQs are based on workplace competence, meaning most of your assessment can be completed through your normal working activities.
Some assessments may require a workplace visit or live observation, depending on your qualification.
03. Assessments
Our qualifications are assessed through workplace evidence and other appropriate assessment methods, which may include observations, professional discussions, questions and supporting documentation.
Assessment arrangements will depend on the qualification requirements and individual circumstances.
How long does an NVQ take to complete?
Many of our NVQs can be completed in approximately 3–6 weeks, depending on your experience, availability and how quickly the required evidence can be gathered.
Some qualifications may take longer, but we'll always discuss a realistic timeframe with you before you begin.
Do I need experience before starting?
Yes, NVQs are designed for people who are already carrying out the relevant work.
If you're unsure whether you have enough experience, just get in touch and we'll happily talk through your options.
Can I complete my NVQ while working full-time?
Absolutely! We understand that you're busy, which is why we aim to work around you and your normal working activities wherever possible.
Our goal is to make the process as straightforward as we can, without unnecessary disruption to your working day.
Will an assessor need to visit my workplace?
This depends on your qualification and the evidence required.
Some parts of your assessment may be completed remotely, but workplace observations may still be necessary. We'll explain exactly what's involved before you enrol.
Can I use photographs and videos as evidence?
Yes! Photographs and videos of your work can form part of your evidence where appropriate.
Your assessor will explain what's acceptable and whether any additional evidence or observations are needed.
Can I upgrade my CPCS or NPORS card by completing an NVQ?
Yes! If you hold a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card or an NPORS Trained Operator Card, completing the relevant NVQ can help you progress towards your CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card or NPORS Competent Operator Card.
You'll also need to meet the relevant card scheme requirements.
If you're unsure which qualification you need, don't worry. Just get in touch and we'll happily point you in the right direction.
What if I'm not very good with computers or paperwork?
Don't worry! We understand that not everyone enjoys paperwork or using computers.
Your assessor will guide you through the process and explain what's needed in plain English. We're here to help, not make things more complicated.
Do you offer payment plans?
We understand that paying for a qualification can be a big expense, which is why we aim to offer flexible payment options where available.
Please get in touch and we'll happily explain the options for your chosen qualification.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden surprises here!
We believe in being upfront about our prices, so we'll explain the agreed qualification fee and any applicable additional charges before you enrol.
Where do you cover?
We're based in Norwich and provide NVQ assessment services throughout East Anglia and surrounding areas.

What happens if I struggle with my NVQ?

Will I receive a recognised qualification?
Yes. Once you've successfully completed all the required assessments and your qualification has been approved through the relevant quality assurance processes, you'll receive a certificate from the awarding organisation.
